Hello Pearce Wind Symphony and HAPPY PUPPY BOWL DAY!!!


The CMF performance schedule for Saturday Feb.21 is here for woodwinds & brass!


We will be working in class this week on ALL pieces! Monday will include our first passoff on Urban Light at 120bpm! Tuesday and Wednesday Morning include ALL winds (Percussion joins us Wednesday morning in the band hall).


Congratulations to our J.J. Pearce Winterguard who placed THIRD in Regional AA Round 1 this past Saturday at the NTCA Contest at Little Elm! That’s fantastic!

  • Drumline please take note of this Saturday Feb.14 10:30 AM performance in the PHS commons for the PHS “Hall of Fame” Ceremony for Pearce Athletics… you get to meet Drew Timme who plays for the LA Lakers!

  • CMF 2026 Feb.21 performance schedule:

  • Your student has TWO performances: a solo & an ensemble

  • Search by student last name: Control F the or hit the “find” button

  • Students will appear twice in the schedule.

  • The performances are open to the public!

  • Parents, please swing by the band hall on Monday Feb.9th after school or at the 6:30pm PABC monthly board meeting to pick up your yard sign to advertise the Feb.28 Mattress Fundraiser!

  • Students, we will begin passing around a CMF room monitor sign-up clipboard in classes this Monday to sign up for volunteer hours to work the JJP CMF on Sat. Feb.21. You can sign up for a shift either in the morning or afternoon, when you are not performing.

  • Students, we will begin passing around a clipboard in classes this Monday to sign up for volunteer hours to work the upcoming Mattress Fundraiser on Saturday Feb.28… we are looking for 16 students to take turns “wearing the mattress” and holding signs from 11:45am to 2:45pm on Sat.Feb.28. Signups are first come, first serve this Monday Feb.9th in band classes and during Advisory.

  • Students & Parents! Monday, Feb.16 at 11:00 AM is the Richardson ISD Conn Selmer Showcase in the Berkner High School Band Hall for all RISD band students grades 6-12. CLICK HERE for the flier! We hope to see students and parents here to try out these brand new instruments! We invite students and families considering long-term instrument investments to explore beginner, intermediate, and pro-level models. Note: Please bring your own mouthpieces, reeds, ligatures, and sticks/mallets to ensure the most accurate testing experience.

  • Disney & Universal Florida January 2027 MMB Trip: all band students signing up for band or colorguard at Pearce 2026-2027 will be eligible to travel with the MMB to Disney World & Universal Studios, Florida in 2027! Our trip is scheduled for Sat Jan.16 through Wed Jan.20, 2027. We will begin taking payments for the trip during the MMB May Marching Camp... more information coming soon regarding this exciting adventure that is only available once every FOUR years! This is the year to be in the MMB!

  • J.J. Pearce Instrumental Faculty Recital

  • Sunday, March 1, 2026 - 6:00 PM

  • St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church - next to RHS on Belt Line

  • A punch & cookies reception will follow this event

  • YOUR private lesson teacher is performing in an ALL-JJP lesson teacher recital!

  • All students enrolled in private lessons attend this special event featuring YOUR teacher on the recital stage!

  • This free event goes from 6pm to 7:30pm including the free reception sponsored by the PABC

  • To prepare for the upcoming Mattress Fundraiser:

  • Saturday, February 21, 2026 - Richardson HS Band hall

  • RISD Bands will all be sharing this event together. Our job is to get JJP supporters to shop at the event!

  • Students remember to enter your 10 quality contacts into your fundraiser — people who may be willing to support them by shopping or helping spread the word.

  • Parents can additionally review this Kickoff Letter that we initiated with the students this week. We had a great turnout at our recent Parent Meeting. If you were unable to attend please take a few minutes to review the recording of the meeting so you can get up to speed on what was shared.

  • Jazz Band starts back up for Spring semester on Monday Feb.9th: 4:35 PM to 6:00 PM

  • Corpus Day: Tuesday Feb.17: 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM - have your entire trip account paid up! $250 remainder can be paid online in Presto, or pay in person on Feb.17.

  • Chamber Music Festival: Saturday Feb.21: All students play a solo and an ensemble.
