WOW, just… WOW!

54 MMB students were named to the TMEA All-Region Band this past Saturday Dec.6!


22 students have qualified to compete at TMEA Pre-Area this coming Tuesday December 9th! 


An impressive 9 students made the All-Region Band as FRESHMEN… that is quite a feat!


A whopping 5 students placed FIRST CHAIR out of the entire North Zone Region! We are so proud of ALL of the these fine students!


** ALL 54 students who were named to the TMEA All-Region Band please be in the band hall at 8:45 AM Mon Dec.8 for a group picture for social media.

TMEA All-Region honorable mentions:

The following 12 students earned a designation of “Alternate” at the TMEA All-Region auditions on Sat Dec.6, and may move up into the TMEA All-Region Band if someone in their section becomes ineligible or unable to perform due to sickness, etc.  These twelve students should keep their schedules OPEN on Jan 15-16, since MANY alternates are often called up each year to jump into the group on the first day, Thursday of the clinic/concert.  Be ready and prepared to jump in!

Symphony Orchestra

Selected Wind Ensemble students perform with the JJP Varsity Orchestra

  • Mon Dec.8: 4:45pm to 7:00pm - rehearse with RHS & JJP strings in band hall

  • Wed Dec.10: 7:00 am - arrive in concert attire to load bus for RHS

    • Perform for 5th graders at RHS for their “symphony experience” & instrument recognition contest during 1st period (coded out of 1st & 3rd period on Dec.10)

TMEA Pre-Area auditions at Duncanville HS

For qualifying students:

  • Tuesday Dec.9 - 2:45 PM students take roll in band hall to load bus for Duncanville

  • All qualifying students will be bussed to Duncanville HS to compete for TMEA Area spots

  • Parents can pick the student up around 9pm at DHS, or students may ride the bus home

    • 7:15 AM Wind Symphony rehearsal with percussion;

WE & Jazz Band perform during lunches:

The J.J. Pearce Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band will be performing during lunches in the commons spreading holiday cheer:

  • Friday Dec. 12: Wind Ensemble plays “Sleigh Ride” in commons during both lunches. Stay in the band hall during advisory to prepare on Friday. Please wear a santa hat or festive headwear.

  • Wednesday Dec.17: Jazz Band plays in commons during both lunches. Arrive at 8:15 AM to set up the commons and sound check. Head to your exam at 8:50 AM and return at 11AM to play for both lunches.  Please wear a santa hat or festive headwear.

  • Thursday Dec.18: Jazz Band plays in commons after school at 11:15 AM for the JJP Faculty Luncheon!  Arrive at 8:15 AM to set up the commons and sound check. Head to your exam at 8:50 AM and return at 11AM to play for the ENTIRE FACULTY!  Please wear a santa hat or festive headwear.
