Congratulations to Colby Wilks (senior trombone) for earning the distinction of “National Merit Semifinalist”! Wow, Colby!!! That is really cool!


It’s gameday Thursday Sept.25! Pack your black tank to wear under the marching uniform Thursday at the game. 9th graders and students who purchased replacement tanks will be issued their tank on Thursday after school, before they eat dinner.


We will begin rehearsal Thursday at 6:15 AM in any white shirt, any shorts, black marching shoes and black socks. After school, students will change into their black tanks, thin black shorts, black marching shoes and black socks before getting into the dinner line in the commons.  Students with color on their nails will need to return the nail color to a natural color for the Thursday Sept.25th home game in preparation for Saturday’s marching contest. This Friday Sept.26 is a special pre-Contest marching band rehearsal from 5pm to 6:15pm. Any parents that are planning to move equipment or props on Saturday at contest are requested to attend the rehearsal from 5:30 PM to 6:15 PM to train and organize : )


This Saturday Sept.27, the band hall opens at 8:15 AM for an 8:40 AM call time for all students for the Wylie Marching Invitational.

All families and supporters are encouraged to join us at Wylie ISD stadium to support the band’s preliminary performance at 3:00 PM. Admission to the contest is $16.00 for all spectators. Admission (wristband) is good for BOTH Prelims and Finals. Pre-school age children will be admitted free. Admission will be by Pre-Ordered tickets ONLY .

    • 7:00 PM Kickoff & JH night (Parkhill & North JH sit in stands with MMB)

LOOKING WAY, WAY AHEAD:

  • Monday, Oct.6 A: STADIUM rehearsal night

    • 9:00 AM Percussion/loading crew loads front ensemble, electronics & podiums

    • 4:20 PM Bell rings and head to F-Hall: white shirt, black shorts, black shoes/socks

    • 4:30 PM PABC serves dinner in commons

    • 4:55 PM grab hat box from uniform room

    • 5:00 PM inspection (all must have their hat box)

    • 5:05 PM load large instruments in truck

    • 5:10 PM full band meeting in band hall

    • 5:15 PM load buses

    • 5:25 PM depart for RHS

    • 5:35 PM percussion, loading crew & DMs off bus to set up equipment

    • 5:40 PM all remaining students off bus and head to fundamental block

      • Line up instrument cases in usual locations, but on the track.

      • Water jugs remain with you in fundamental block

    • 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM: STADIUM rehearsal!

    • Parent arrival in stands for OPEN REHEARSAL is 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM

    • 9:00 PM dismissal: loading crew, DMs & percussion must return on buses

    • 9:40 PM approximate dismissal from band hall for those riding the bus


  • Tuesday, Oct.7 B:  5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Evening marching band


  • Wednesday, Oct.8 A: 7:00 AM to 8:25 Marching Band;

    • 2:15 PM depart for Jazz AREA auditions at Waxahachie HS


  • Thursday, Oct.9 B:  Away game V Irving HS at Ellis Stadium

    • 6:35 AM to 8:20 Marching Band on B-Field for ALL; 

    • 9:00 AM to 10:20 AM:  inspired performers in large ensemble room F105

    • 4:20 PM Bell rings and head to F-Hall to change into MMB jersey, etc

    • 7:00 kickoff

UIL CONTEST WEEK:

    • 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM  Marching Band rehearsal: 

    • Students wear athletic marching clothes, tennis shoes, sunglasses, hat and filled / iced juguzzi.


  • Tuesday, Oct.14 A:  5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Evening marching band;



  • Thursday, Oct.16 A:  No AM rehearsal today.

    • 9:00 AM to 10:20 AM:  inspired performers in large ensemble room F105


  • Friday, Oct.17 B: Home Football Game v RHS

    • 6:35 AM to 8:20 Marching Band on B-Field for ALL;

STADIUM REHEARSAL:

For the Monday Oct.6 Stadium Rehearsal, students will stay after school… just like a gameday. 

The PABC will graciously feed all band and colorguard students after school in the commons!

  • Students are bussed to Mustang-Eagle Stadium for a special three-hour rehearsal with our designers.

  • Students stay after school, just like a Tuesday evening rehearsal.

  • Students wear a white shirt, black shorts, long black socks and black marching shoes.

  • The PABC will feed you after school,  and your filled and iced juguzzi. 

  • Hats & Sunglasses are needed for the first hour of rehearsal, as students will be looking DIRECTLY into the sun.

  • Students will be dismissed to ride home with their parents at 9:00 PM from the stadium. We will send them to the stadium with their backpacks and duffels to make dismissal easy.

  • Percussion, Loading Crew & Drum Majors ride the buses back to the band hall to unload the trucks. Dismissal for these students at the band hall is estimated at 9:45 PM. 

  • Students who drive themselves to school may ride home on the bus, but are encouraged to ride back to the band hall with their parents for a much earlier dismissal. We would love to see as many parents at the OPEN REHEARSAL as possible from 8pm to 9pm.
