Audition Information
Band Placement auditions will be Monday through Friday, April 13 - 17, 2026 at Pearce High School.
Click your instrument button below for your 3-page audition materials packet. All dates, times, and audition information are included.
Each packet includes a link to sign up for your audition time and a Google Form information sheet.

AUDITION PROCESS

1. Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled audition time to warm up
2. Play 2 scales listed below (as written or as many octaves as possible)
3. Play chromatic scale (as written or as many octaves as possible
4. Play audition etude (theme & variation)

Please let Mr. Schayot PRIOR to your performance if you are playing the variation after the theme.

  • Metronomes are encouraged to check tempos prior to your scales or etude, but cannot be used during your performance.

  • For each portion of the audition, one test note is encouraged.

  • Check your instrument for water. Empty water and vacuum out reeded instruments so you have the best working equipment.

  • Please ensure that you mark your scale sheet with the scales that have been selected. All scales have been clarified with “Concert Pitch”, “YOUR” keys, and Octaves.

    • SAXOPHONES…Your scales are listed as YOUR starting pitch for each scale (not concert pitch)
