Meyerson Fund Scholarship

The Meyerson Fund was established in 1989 for use by the PABC to fund annual performances in the Meyerson Symphony
Center and for scholarship(s) for graduating senior student(s) at Pearce High School.

Meyerson Fund Scholarship

What are the qualifications?

You must be a graduating senior in good standing in the J.J. Pearce High School Band.

You must have demonstrated high levels of musicianship, leadership and character while in the band.

You must be planning to major in music.

How do I apply?

Submit a resume listing qualifications of musicianship, leadership and character. List your GPA/class rank and include
involvement such as private study history, band honors program, Chamber Music Festivals, Region Band Auditions, solo
auditions for marching or concert bands, section leadership, etc.

Write a paper of no more than two (2) pages discussing your musical and scholarly goals. Include your reasons for pursuing
a career in music and the major influences in your music and academics.

Submit three (3) written references from adults (other than your parents) recommending you for the scholarship. At least one
reference must come from your private lesson teacher. The other two can come from any adult with knowledge of your musical qualifications or character.

What will happen next?

A selection committee will interview the candidates after all the materials have been submitted. The committee will include a
band director, a school or district administrator, and a member of the PABC, Inc. Board. All information presented to the
committee will be treated as confidential.
