Pearce
Area Band Club What is the March-a-thon? (It's really more of a March-a-5K) The March-a-thon is a fundraiser. In the Spring of 2010, the MMB took what is referred to as a “Big Trip.” The MMB went to New York City and played at Carnegie Hall. Ask any kid who went on that trip what they remembered most about their band experience and I am sure they will all say “Carnegie Hall.” They got to play on the same stage where Mark Twain, Winston Churchill and the Beatles have appeared. The plan is for the MMB to march from Pearce, out on to Mimosa, across Campbell (we have a police escort) through the Tom Thumb and Home Depot parking lots, back across Campbell, through the Bike Mart parking lot, back through the J.J. Pearce Addition and Estates North subdivision (Indian reservation) and back to school. Funds are raised by the students in the form of per-mile pledges and sponsorships. We also hope to solicit and obtain financial support from local businesses and from the community. We will also pass the hat along the way. In 2005, the MMB raised over $37,000, so we think this can work!
Keep track of donations on the March-a-Thon pledge form. Make contribution
checks out to “PABC” and send to the school with your student to be dropped
into the safe in the Band Hall. The PABC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization and any contribution may be tax-deductible.
